Effective August 21, 2026
TrueNTP is built to collect as close to nothing as an app can. This policy describes what the app does with data, in plain language.
Almost nothing. TrueNTP has no accounts, no analytics, no crash-reporting SDKs, and no tracking of our own. We run no servers and receive no data from your device. Your settings and sync history are stored only on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the app. The two narrow exceptions — ads in the free version and the Pro purchase — are described below.
To measure time, the app sends small NTP packets (RFC 4330) to the time
servers you have configured. The servers TrueNTP ships with are
time.apple.com (Apple), time.cloudflare.com
(Cloudflare), time.nist.gov (NIST, the US National Institute
of Standards and Technology), time.google.com (Google),
time.windows.com (Microsoft), and time.aws.com
(Amazon). Some are enabled out of the box and the rest are one tap away in
Settings, where you can also disable any of them or add your own.
These packets contain only protocol timestamps, no personal information. As with any internet traffic, the operators of those servers can see your IP address; that is inherent to how networking works, and those servers are operated by third parties under their own policies. If you would rather a particular operator did not see your queries, turn that server off in Settings.
The optional GNSS reference feature reads the clock carried by GPS satellite signals, which Android only exposes to apps holding the precise location permission. TrueNTP uses that permission solely to read the satellite time signal. The app does not compute, store, or transmit your position — all processing happens on your device, and nothing leaves it. The feature is off by default; declining the permission simply leaves it off.
The sync-log export creates a CSV file containing timestamps, server hostnames, offsets, and round-trip times, and hands it to the share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice.
The free version shows a single non-personalized banner ad served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads and prevent fraud, AdMob may process device information such as the advertising ID; see how Google uses information from ad partners. TrueNTP does not share location or any other data with the ads SDK. The one-time Pro unlock removes ads entirely — Pro versions make no ad requests at all.
The Pro unlock is a one-time purchase processed by Google Play (or the App Store on iOS). To restore your purchase across reinstalls, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives the store's purchase token and a randomly generated install identifier — not your name, email, or payment details. Payment information itself never touches the app. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
TrueNTP is a utility for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.
Any change to this policy will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
